Former Navy chief Real Admiral Musharraf Hussain Khan has died of old age complications at the age of 87.
Khan breathed his last at Dhaka’ Combined Military Hospital (CMH) on Friday (Oct 13), said an ISPR statement.
He left behind a son, wife, host of relatives and well wishers to mourn his death.

The statement reads Khan served as the chief of the Bangladesh Navy (BN) from Nov 7, 1973 to Nov 3, 1979, it reads.
On Jan 10, 1974, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman commissioned Bangladesh navy’s largest training base BNS Issa Khan and handed over naval ensign to BN during Khan’s tenure, it added.
The namaz-e-janaza of the deceased would be held after Zohr prayers on Monday (Oct 15) at BNS Haji Mohsin in Dhaka Cantonment.
The former navy chief would be buried at ancestral graveyard in city’s Bangla Motor area on the same day.
