RAB Director General Benazir Ahmed. The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has dedicated teams for terrorism, narcotics and cybercrimes in all 14 of its units operating across the country.

“We have formed three separate units in all 14 battalions. A cyber patrolling unit has been introduced recently,” RAB Director General Benazir Ahmed told a media call on Saturday.
On the issue of terrorism and militancy, the elite police unit’s chief said, “We are working on it from the very beginning. None of us wants to see the rise of militancy again. Militant outfits are under surveillance.”
Responding to a query on links between political elements and leaked audio conversations over the road safety protest, Ahmed said, “We cannot make sweeping comments on an isolated incident. It’s not our concern whether an individual is involved with any political party.”
On Thursday, RAB arrested a woman from West Dhanmondi on charges of spreading rumours during the protest.
It said that 28-year-old Faria Mahjabin circulated ‘pre-recorded statement’ on the social media.
