Student rally dispersed by tear gas shells in Jigatala, Science LabPolice lobbed teargas shells near Pilkhana, Science Laboratory and City College to disperse students.
On Sunday, these areas were rocked by students with safe road protest entering the 8th day.
During the skirmishes, at least four persons were injured. Students claim the attackers are Chhatra League and Jubo League activists. At this time, several journalists were also injured. General students had brought out a procession in the morning demanding safe roads and resignation of shipping minister.
Near Jigatola they were asked to turn back by the police stationed there but the agitating students refused and try to head towards AL party office on Dhanmondi 3.
At this moment, the police lobbed tear gas shells to disperse the rally.

Bangla Tribune photojournalist, present at the scene said: “the miscreants also attacked media personnel and, reporter of AP, A. H Ahad and other journalists were injured.”

Around 25 blank shots were fired and tear gas shells exploded by the police to which the students responded with brickbats. BANGLATRIBUNE/Sazzad HossainTalking on the issue, DMP, Deputy Commissioner, Maruf Hossain Sardar, said: “we do not know who carried out the attack.”
We did not get any complaint, he added.
