FOCUS BANGLAThe holidays including weekly and government leaves for the all civil servants have been cancelled at 13 districts where a very severe cyclonic storm 'BulBul' is likely to hit after Friday (Nov 80) evening.
"We have cancelled the holidays of the government officials and employees at the 13 cyclone-prone districts in a bid to tackle the scale of damage [after the storm]," State Minister for Public Administration Farhad Hossain told Bangla Tribune.
"We are in contact with the local administrations and getting the update," Farhad said adding the government was readying preparedness for the cyclone.
According to the Met office, cyclone Bulbul, situated over west-central bay and adjoining east-central bay moved northwards, intensified further and now lies over the northwest bay and adjoining west-central bay.
At 6pm on Friday, the very severe cyclonic storm was centred about 620km southwest of Chittagong port, 585km southwest of Cox’s Bazar port, 495km southwest of Mongla port, and 490km southwest of Payra port, Met Office said in a bulletin.
It is likely to intensify further and move in a north/northeasterly direction and may cross West Bengal- Khulna coast (near Sundarbans) by Saturday evening, it added.
