The government has published in form of a gazette the Ninth Wage Board Award for journalists and employees of newspapers and news agencies raising their pay by 80 to 85 percent.
The Ministry of Information published the gazette on Thursday (Sept 12).
The gazette will come into effect from the date of publication repealing the previous Eighth Wage Board Award.
The government on Jan 29, 2018, formed a 13-member wage board headed by retired Appellate Division Judge Md Nizamul Huque. The board submitted its report to the government on Oct 28, 2018.
