"The services were suspended on Tuesday (Sept 11) night," news agency UNB quoted BTRC spokesperson Zakir Hossain as saying on Wednesday (Sept 11).
"It will remain effective until further notice," said Hossain, a senior assistant director of BTRC.
He said mobile operators were earlier directed to suspend 3G and 4G services between 5pm and 6am every day in Cox's Bazar Rohingya camps.
Earlier on Monday, the telecom regulator ordered mobile phone operators to suspend 3G and 4G data services in the area in line with its instruction issued on Sept 3.
Bangladesh is currently hosting more than a million Rohingyas in Cox's Bazar camps.
More than 730,000 Rohingya fled Myanmar’s Rakhine state for Bangladesh after a military-led crackdown in August 2017 that the United Nations has said was perpetrated with “genocidal intent”. Myanmar has denied almost all the allegations.
