The schedule of the eleventh parliamentary election will come in late October, said the Election Commission (EC).
EC Secretary Helaluddin Ahmed commented after a meeting at the EC office on Tuesday.
“Field offices have been instructed to prepare updated voter lists before the schedule is declared,” Helaluddin added.
EC will observe 1 March as the ‘National Voter’s Day’.
All the preparations for holding the general election will be completed before announcing the schedule, he informed.
The incumbent government will complete its five-year tenure on January 28, 2019.
As per the constitution, general election must be held within 90 days before the tenure of the parliament expires.
