The government has withdrawn Ahmed Kabir as the deputy commissioner of Jamalpur after videos purportedly of him in a compromising position with a female staffer went viral on social media.

In an official notification on Sunday (Aug 25), the public administration ministry has appointed Md. Enamul Hoque as the new DC.

Kabir has been attached to the ministry as an officer on special duty (OSD), it said.

Earlier, the government initiated the move after a video went viral on social media where Kabir was purportedly seen hugging a female colleague privately, drawing huge criticism.

On Aug 24, The state minister for public administration said departmental action will be taken against Ahmed Kabir after looking into the matter.
