Govt mulls taskforce on road accident: Quader

According to the minister, the ministry has plans to set up a taskforce based on the proposal made in this regard by a committee led by former Shipping Minister Shahjahan Khan.
Quader said these while speaking to the media after a meeting with Shahjahan Khan led committee.
The committee had submitted 111 recommendations to bring discipline on the streets and curbing road accidents at his ministry.
He that the final decision in this matter would be taken at the meeting of national road safety council scheduled to held on Sep 5, he told reporters.
Prior to the meeting, Quader received a report from the former shipping minister prepared by their committee.
A fifteen member committee led by Shahjahan Khan was formed for restoring discipline in the transport sector on Feb 19.
