If the leather industry comes under any harm from any syndicate, the matter will be investigated and action will be taken against those involved, says Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaildul Quader.

The minister made the comment while speaking to the media at the ministry’s conference room in Dhaka on Wednesday (Aug 14).

The government needed time to investigate any irregularities in the buying and selling of hides to take measures according, he said.

In response to media queries over BNP Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi’ allegations that a government leader was responsible for the rawhide price slump, Obaidul Quader said that those who brought about such allegations must produce evidences to substantiate them.
