“No matter how many people who are taking law in their hands and participating in mob beating incidents will face legal action. We will bring the perpetrators of such killings to book,” he told the media at his office in Dhaka on Tuesday (Jul 23).
Kamal said, “We no longer want the repeat of such unwanted incident caused by spreading rumours in social media as well as among the mass.
“Don’t take law at your hand,” urged the minister before adding if you people suspect anybody hand over them to the law enforcement agencies or call 999.
Kamal informed that as many as 81 perpetrators of mob beating incidents have been arrested with more are being traced using video footages.
Besides, six people have been killed in mob lynching, 15 injured with nine cases and 15 general diaries have been loaded, he said.
As many as six suspects have been arrested in mob lynching incident that killed a woman in the capital’s Badda.
Awareness-raising activities were being carried out by educational and religious institutions, said Kamal before adding social degradation are the reason behind such incidents.
