Home minister asks DC’s to show zero tolerance towards drugs

The minister made the comment on Thursday (Jul 18) after talking to the DCs at the secretariat.
“The DC conference is held every year; so please tell the prime minister what sort of problems you face in carrying out your duty.”
I am asking the DCs to the take a zero tolerance stance against drugs,” said the minister and added, “Take initiatives against rise of extremism and militancy.”
The home minister also underlined the need to raise public awareness against drugs.
The DCs who attended the conference presented 16 proposals, including the deployment of specialised police force to ensure safety of mobile courts.
The conference of DCs began on Jul 14 and will end today (Jul 18). The DC’s gave 333 proposals to the cabinet which were discussed.
