Hasina pledges to create 15 million jobs in five years

Hasina in parliamentPrime Minister Sheikh Hasina said that the government has set a goal to create 15 million jobs in the next five years.
Her pledge came on Wednesday (Jun 26) during the question-answer session in Parliament.
“Every year 2 million youths are entering the job market and it’s extremely challenging to create work for such a large population,” she said.
She added that the government was working to create job opportunities through massive industrialization.
“Initiatives have been taken to set up 100 industrial areas by 2030,” she said and added that 88 locations across several districts have already been selected for that.
“As many as 30,000 people have gotten in the economic regions and by 2030, the number will visibly stand at 1 million.”
Responding to a question from Gano Forum lawmaker Mokabbir Khan, she said that the government has undertaken many initiatives to include the Qawmi Madrasa curriculum in the mainstream education system.
