The government, for the first time, has formulated a work plan to send 1,000 workers abroad every year from backward Upazilas, says State Minister for Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment Imran Ahmad.
“It is open for all from all regions of the country going abroad as workers. No quota system is followed in this regard,” he said at the parliament on Thursday, reports BSS.
The state minister said workers are being sent to 173 countries so far and all data of the expatriate workers are recorded in a database.
