Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal has said that DIG Mizanur Rahman might bribed the ACC officials to cover up his offences and he will be given no quarter if proven guilty.
“DIG Mizan bribed the officials of Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) to cover up his offences,” said the home minister while responding to questions of media on Wednesday (Jun 12).
“He (Mizan) is already an accused in a case which is on trial and if the evidence is found that he bribed ACC officials, then legal actions will be taken against the accused officer,” he said.
DIG Mizanur Rahman again came to the spotlight, after an audio clip of a conversation between him and ACC Director Khandaker Enamul Basir was surfaced recently.
On May 3 last year, ACC Deputy Director Farid Ahmed Patwary interrogated Mizan about his alleged accumulation of illegal wealth. Later, Basir was given charge of the investigation.
Mizan was withdrawn as additional commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) following a marital scandal in January last year and attached with the police headquarters now.
