education ministryTo prevent question paper leaks for the exam to select assistant teachers for government primary schools, this year, the ministry of primary and mass education sent question paper online before the day of the exam and had the test taken after printing it in respective districts.

Though this system managed to stave off leaks, it possesses some complications.

District administration has exhorted the ministry of education to improve the exam system through digital question papers, proper preservation and printing.

The Jashore district administration has sent a letter to the ministry of primary and mass education to ensure modern equipment supported by trained manpower.

The letter was sent on April 25 last via Khulna Divisional Commissioner. It’s believed that on April 20, around thirty thousand people appeared for the exam to select assistant primary teachers. While the question was sent via Internet, the district administration faced problem in printing and preserving so many questions.

Talking about the efforts of the ministry to tighten the security in the existing system, joint secretary of the ministry of primary and mass education, Md. Abdul Mannan told Bangla Tribune: “we can look into having the questions printed locally but that has to wait till June.”

Jashore district administrator, Abdul Awal, told Bangla Tribune: “we do not have the manpower and other facilities to print so many questions in one day and take the exam.”

I believe that to ensure security, an improved system is essential.

Centrally, the task can be carried out by BG Press, but in districts, we are compelled to rely on a privately owned press, he deplored.

“For this reason, we have asked for the re-assessment of the system of printing questions the night before the exam.”

Ministry sources say that a letter requesting an opinion on the matter will soon be sent to the director general of the bureau of primary education.
