Police in Dhaka have held 51 suspected drug dealers after a raid in Dhaka’s Mohammadpur as part of the ongoing countrywide crackdown.

The raid unfolded around 10:30am on Wednesday at the Geneva Camp, known to be one of the hubs for illegal drugs trade in Dhaka.

“During the three-and-a-half- hour raid 700 Yaba tablets were seized and 51 people have been detained,” said metro police’s Additional Deputy Commissioner Wahidul Islam told Bangla Tribune.

Police said listed drug trader Falu, who was wanted for several charges, was nabbed during the raid at the wee hours with gunshot wounds. He has been admitted to the National Institute of Traumatology & Orthopaedic Rehabilitaion (NITOR), commonly known as the Pongu Hospital.
