Minister Mozammel to attend Modi’s inauguration

Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen told the media on Sunday (May 26) that Haque will be representing Bangladesh at the ceremony.
“Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was invited to attend the ceremony back when Modi took oath in 2014 but she couldn’t attend as she was on her Japan visit,” he said.
“Back then Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury attended the program on behalf of her,” he added.
The foreign minister said that as this year also the prime minister will be on her Japan visit and the speaker has another pre-scheduled program.
“Hence as a senior member of the cabinet Mozammel Haque will attending Modi’s oath taking ceremony,” he said.
