The reshuffle in the Cabinet is the need of time in order to speed up work, said Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader.
His remarks came on Monday (May 20), a day after Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina shuffled her cabinet a little over four months forming the government for the third consecutive term.
“It’s just for functioning and ensuring quality of the works smoothly,” said Quader, also the road transport and bridges minister, while responding to a question at the bridges division in Dhaka.
“The cabinet shuffle is a common practice to speed up government’s works. Such changes are made in every country when required,” He said and added that as the leader it was entirely the prime minister’s call.
