According to the meeting minutes of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Ministry of Primary and Mass Education on Sunday (May 19), it’s one of the 12 out of the 276 proposals of the 10th Parliamentary committee that have been turned down.
The ministry explained that according to the public administration ministry’s decision there is no scope for an independent commission for just primary school teacher appointments.
“The committee had no further discussions regarding the ministry’s explanation,” said MP Shirin Akhter, who sits on the parliamentary committee.
However, the 10th Parliament’s proposal of an independent primary education board and curriculum is still in the ministry’s consideration, according to officials.
