Non Government Teachers Registration and Certification Authority (NTRCA)Around three thousand teachers of NTRCA (Non-government Teachers’ Registration and Certification Authority), get very little salary per month. Most of them get Tk 2,000 as monthly salary.
Physical trainer of Kulaura upazila Girls’ high school, Shah Alam, is one such person.
Talking about Alam’s suffering, principal Abdul Muktadir Chowdhury, said, “Though NTRCA has appointed Alam, he is not being included in the MPO by the secondary and higher secondary school authority.”
We cannot pay him so gave him a small room to stay in the school, added the principal.
“To give him an alternative income source, we are planning to give him the duty to run the canteen.”
In 2017, Shah Alam applied to be included in the MPO (Monthly Payment Order) but since his Honours degree was from Darul Ihsan University, the application was cancelled.
Based on a High Court writ on Apr 13, 2016, all campuses of Darul Ihsan University were closed down.
Another court order said that certificates from Darul Ihsan University prior to 13 April, 2016 will be accepted.
Same situation is noticed in the case of Rafiqul Islam, English teacher of Naria Bihari High School in Shariatpur.
He failed to be included in MPO despite trying for two and a half years. Along with an amount paid by the school, he gets Tk 5,000 per month.
“I got appointment through NTRCA by my own merit but could not be included in MPO; I completed Honours in English and Masters from University of Business and Technology.”
English teacher at Nurainpur Agrani Bidyapith School in Patuakhali, Monirul Islam, says, “I joined under NTRCA in 2016 and have been working without a salary for two and a half years.”
Sometimes, I get paid when the school holds exams, he lamented.
