Dhaka, Thimphu ink five instruments

Bangladesh-BhutanBangladesh and Bhutan signed five instruments on strengthening their cooperation in the areas of health, agriculture, shipping, tourism and public administration training, reports state news agency BSS.
The instruments were inked after the official talks between the two countries at the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) in Dhaka.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and visiting Bhutanese Premier Dr Lotay Tshering witnessed the signing ceremony.
The Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for the operationalisation of the MoU on use inland waterways for transportation of bilateral trade and transit cargos was signed by Bangladesh Shipping Secretary Abdus Samad and Secretary of Bhutan Economic Affairs Ministry Dasho Yeshi Wangdi.
A memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare of Bangladesh and the Ministry of Health of the Royal Government of Bhutan was inked by Health Services Division Secretary Ashadul Islam and Health Secretary of Bhutan Uganda Dophu.
An MoU between Bangladesh Agriculture Research Council (BARC) under the Agriculture Ministry and the Department of Agriculture under the Ministry of Agriculture and Forest of Bhutan was signed by Executive Director of the BARC Kabir Ikramul Haque and Bhutanese Ambassador in Dhaka Sonom Tobden Rabgye.
An MoU between Bangladesh Public Administration Training Centre (BPATC) and Royal Institute of Management (RIM) was signed by BPATC Rector Dr M Aslam Alam and Ambassador Sonom Tobden Rabgye.
Besides, another MoU on cooperation in the field of tourism was also signed between tourism council of Bhutan and Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation.
Chairman of Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation Aktaruzzaman Khan Kabir and Ambassador Sonom Tobden Rabgye of Bhutan inked the MoU for their respective sides.
