The public administration ministry has recommended 1,221 candidates, who cleared the 37th Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) examinations, for different cadres.

The recruited officers have been urged to join their offices concerned on Apr 7, it says.
In June 2018, the final result of 37th BCS was published, according to which the Bangladesh Public Service Commission (BPSC) had recommended some 1,314 candidates provisionally for appointment to different cadres. Of them, 465 were recommended for general cadres.
According to the revised list issued on Wednesday, 93 of those 1,314 recommended candidates have been dropped due to police report and other reasons.
Nearly a quarter million aspirants took part in the preliminary test held in September 2016 for 1,226 vacant posts.
Some 8,523 cleared it and 8,031 of them sat for the written tests that began in February last year and 5,379 passed the tests.
All the successful candidates could not be recommended for cadre posts due to lack of vacant posts. The number of such candidates in 37th BCS is 3,454.
