The Dhaka Medical College Hospital authorities have handed over bodies of 48 victims of Chawkbazar fire to their families, said district administration officials.
The authorities are yet to identify another 19 bodies, which have been kept at the hospital morgue.
Meanwhile, the forensic team collected samples from all the bodies as well as blood and saliva sample of the missing victims’ relatives to conduct DNA tests to identify the bodies.

Nearly 70 people were killed and dozens were injured when a fast-moving fire ripped through several buildings at Old Dhaka’s Chawkbazar late on Feb 20.
As many 37 fire-fighting units worked for 15 hours to douse the flames before the fire burnt several buildings to ashes.
