The fire that broke out on Wednesday (Feb 20) at Chawkbazar and has so far claimed 70 lives. The death toll is feared to rise.
Among the 76 dead so far, 66 are male, seven are female and five are children.
Many crowding the emergency department or morgue found their loved ones dead or in various stages of injury.

Md Ataur, a student of Barakata Madrasa is looking for his teacher Mowlana Omar Faruk. He made several trips to DMCH since the fire last night, trying to find his teacher.
Akhtar Hossain has been waiting in front of the hospital morgue for his brother-in-law Shahin, 45, who has been missing since last night.

According to DMCH authorities, many of the deceased have been burned beyond recognition and are yet to be identified.
“The bodies of those who have died have been sent to the DMCH morgue,” said Fire Service and Civil Defence Director General Ali Ahmed.
“Many are still to be identified. Many have been burned beyond recognition and it will take a while to identify them,” he added.
