The five advisers to the prime minister in the 2014-18 Sheikh Hasina administration have been reappointed.
The official order by the Cabinet Division was issued on Monday (Jan 14), a week after the new council of the minister sworn in the by the president.
The advisers to the PM, with the rank and status of Cabinet members, are HT Imam, Mashiur Rahman, Gowher Rizvi, Tawfiq-e-Elahi Chowdhury and Tarique Ahmed Siddique.
A member of the Awami League’s Advisory Council, Imam will advise Hasina on political affairs. The retired bureaucrat also served as the co-chair of the party’s election coordination committee.
Mashiur will advise Hasina on economic affairs, Gowher on international affairs, and Tawfiq on power, energy and mineral resources while retired Bangladesh Army Major General Tarique on security affairs.
