Voting in national election at 40,183 centres

The 11th parliamentary national polls is slated for Dec 30,2018. File PhotoVoting in the 11th Parliamentary Election will be held at 40,183 centres across the country, says an Election Commission (EC) official.
“As many as 206,477 voting booths will be set up at these centres and the figure is likely to rise because of EC’s move to use electronic voting machines (EVMs),” EC Assistant Secretary Rowshan Ara said on Sunday (Dec 9).
On Dec 1, the EC started issuing gazette notifications on the polling centres for 300 constituencies.
According to Representation of the People Order (RPO), the Bangladesh election authority has a legal obligation to publish gazettes on the voting centres list at least 25 days before the election.
The seat-wise gazettes contain details of polling centres including its serial no. location, name as well as numbers of voting booths, electoral area, and numbers of male and female voters.
As many as 37,707 polling centres were set up for 91.9 million voters during the 10th Parliamentary Election held on 2014.
