BNP’s Patuakhali-3 candidate Golam Maula Rony has been cleared to participate in the upcoming national polls slated for Dec 30.
The Election Commission (EC) has declared his nomination papers valid after hearing a plea challenging the returning officer’s decision of revoking his papers.
Rony, who is a former Awami League lawmaker joined the opposition BNP On Nov 26, Rony at the party chief’s Gulshan offices and was nominated by the party to contest the upcoming polls for Patuakhali-3.
On Sunday (Dec 20), Returning Officer and District Commissioner Matiul Islam Chowdhury cancelled his nomination on grounds of the affidavit not being signed.
