The Jatiya Sangsad passed the Bangladesh Fisheries Research Institute Bill, 2018 on Sunday (Oct 28).
Fisheries and Livestock Minister Narayan Chandra Chanda moved the bill in the House which was unanimously passed by voice votes with Deputy Speaker Fazley Rabbi Miah in the chair.
Piloting the bill, the minister said the draft of the Bangladesh Fisheries Research Institute Bill, 2018 was approved finally in the cabinet through amending the Fisheries Research Institute Ordinance, 1984, in order to make it time befitting.
Earlier, the house sent the bill to the concerned parliamentary standing committee for providing reports within two days, new agency BSS reports.
