Hindus celebrate Mohanobomi PujaThe Puja pandels and temples in the city and elsewhere in the country are now bustling with thousands of Hindu devotees as they thronged the mandaps to celebrate their biggest religious festival of Durga Puja with huge enthusiasm and festivity on the Mahanobomi on Thursday (Oct 19), reports BSS.
On the Nobomi, just on the eve of the immersion of goddess Durga, the festivity reached its peak as devotees visit different Puja pandels from noon to midnight to have last glances at goddess Durga seeking blessings for their well-being.
Meanwhile, leaders of different political parties irrespective of religion, cast and creed have also been visiting the mandaps to exchange greetings and pleasantries with their Hindu friends and neighbors.
As a part of the rituals’ of last day celebration, Nobomi Vhog (Feast) was offered to the goddess by the devotees.
Dedications, including Jagga and flowers (Anjali), were also made while the devotees also received parts of the feast offered to the goddess as Prasad.
Distribution of Prasad continued at all the stalls while dance and cultural functions were also held on the occasion.
The five-day festival, celebrating the arrival of Goddess Durga on earth, will end on Friday (Oct 20), through Bisarjan (immersion of Goddess).
