South Korean, Dutch envoys present credentials to President

Photo/BSSAmbassadors of South Korea and Netherlands to Bangladesh separately presented their credentials to President M Abdul Hamid at Bangabhaban on Tuesday (Oct 16).

The resident envoys are: Hu Kang-il of the Republic of Korea and Hendrikus G.J. (Harry) Verweij of Netherlands.

The president welcomed both the ambassadors and hoped that the bilateral relations with the countries will further be expanded during their respective assignments here, BSS quoted President’s Press Secretary Joynal Abedin as saying.

He told the South Korean ambassador that the bilateral relations in the field of trade and investment are excellent.

Hu Kang-il said, “Many investors have already invested in Bangladesh. Some others are also keen to invest in different sectors here.”

PHOTO/BSSHe hoped that the bilateral relations between Bangladesh and South Korea would be stronger in the coming days.

During the meeting with the Netherlands envoy, the President appreciated the continuous cooperation of the Netherlands in various development activities.

Abdul Hamid stressed tapping all possibilities to boost businesses and trade ties between the Netherlands and Bangladesh.

The President also put emphasis on the mutual high-level visits in both public and private sectors.

He lauded the role of the Netherlands in Bangladesh’s socioeconomic development.

The ambassadors sought the President’s cooperation in discharging his duties here.

The President assured the ambassadors of providing necessary cooperation during their assignments in Bangladesh.

Secretaries concerned of the President’s office were present in the meeting.

Earlier, on their arrival at Bangabhaban, a smartly turned-out contingent of the horse-mounted President Guard Regiment (PGR) gave the envoys guards of honour.
