Chief justice Syed Mahmud Hossain has said that the nation should work in giving material form to the Sonar Bangla dream of the father of the nation.
If we fulfil his dream then his soul will find eternal peace, he added.
He made the comment while inaugurating the voluntary blood donation scheme on Sunday at the Supreme Court Auditorium.
Calling 15 August a day of national shame and terror when Bangabandhu along with his family were killed, the chief justice, said: “today, the country is recalling her greatest son with pride and a deep sense of bereavement.”
I humbly offer deepest respect for those who were martyred on this day in 1975.
Before the blood donation began, special prayers were offered and lines read out from the scriptures.
The chief justice also thanked the officials of the transfusion department of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University for assisting in the blood donation programme.
