says CoA chief Vinod Rai New Delhi: The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has barred India from bidding for hosting future sports and Olympic-related events, following denial of visas to two Pakistani shooters and their coach for the shooting World Cup.

The move could affect the hosting of several tournaments in coming months, including qualifiers for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. It could also affect India’s hopes of hosting the 2026 Youth Olympic Games, 2030 Asian Games and 2032 Summer Olympics.

However, IOC has added a relief in the letter sent to Indian Olympic Association. The suspensions will stand “until clear written guarantees are obtained from the Indian government to ensure entry of all participants in events in full compliance with the rules of the Olympic Charter.”
