'Tom and Jerry' live-action/CGI film will hit the big screen next Christmas as Warner Bros moved the release date up to Dec 23, 2020.
The hybrid film of the beloved cat and mouse was previously slated for release on April 2021, reports The Hollywood Reporters.
The director, Tim Story, is known for Fantastic Four (2005), Barbershop (2002), and Taxi (2004).
Tom and Jerry will star Chloe Grace Moretz (If I stay), Michael Pena (American Hustle), Ken Jeong (The Hangover), Pallavi Sharda, and so on.
American actor Brian Stepanek, who played the clumsy janitor in Disney channel’s hit series The Suite Life of Zack & Cody is playing Tom.
The new film sees Tom the cat, and Jerry the mouse getting kicked out of their home and relocating to a fancy New York hotel where a scrappy employee named Kayla (Moretz) must evict the mouse before a high-class wedding at the hotel. She hires the piano-playing cat to save her job.
Tom and Jerry were created by William Hanna, and Joseph Barbera in 1940. Seven of the shorts of the animated series won Oscars from 1943 to 1953.
