The panel led by Misha Sawdagar and Zayed Khan won the biennial election of Bangladesh Cholochitro Shilpi Samiti.
The election committee chief Ilias Kanchan announced the results around 1.15am on Saturday (Oct 26) after daylong voting held in a festive mood amid tight security at the Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (BFDC) in Dhaka.
Misha has been reelected President of the association by defeating Arifa Zaman Moushumi while Zayed Khan was elected as the general secretary.
Misha has got 227 votes while his nearest contestant Moushumi polled 125 votes and Jayed Khan bagged 281 votes while Ilias Kobra polled 7 votes.
The panel led by Misha swept all the 18 posts of the association at stake.
Monowar Hossain Dipjol and Masum Parvez Rubel have been elected Vice-President, Arman Assistant General Secretary, Subrata Organising Secretary, Mamnun Emon International Affairs Secretary, Jackie Alamgir Office and Publicity Secretary, Zakir Hossain Sports and Cultural Affairs Secretary and Farhad Hossain Treasurer.
The Executive Members are Anjana, Rosina, Aruna Biswas, Ali Raj, Bappa Raj, Afzal Sharif, Maruf, Asif Iqbal, Alexander Bow, Jasmine and Joy Chowdhury.
Three were elected unopposed. Among them Subrata was elected as the organising secretary, Jaki Alamgir as office and publicity secretary and Farhad was elected as treasurer as there were no other valid candidates against them.
The voting began at 10am and continued till 5pm. A total of 386 of the 449 voters cast their ballots.
Misha Sawdagar-Zayed Khan panel won the biennial election of Bangladesh Cholochitro Shilpi Samiti in 2017.
Misha Sawdagar was elected president while Zayed Khan became general secretary.
