Cooper and Shayk, who share daughter Lea De Seine, are reportedly working out a custody arrangement for their child, who was born in March 2017, a source told the publication ‘People’.
The former lovebirds began dating in Spring 2015, though kept their love life under wraps in the public eye.
“I have a lot of friends who share a lot of their personal life on Instagram or social media, very publicly. I admire it and I think it’s great – but I think it’s all about personal choice,” Shayk once told Glamour UK back in February.
“Because my work requires me to be out there, I just decided my personal life will be quiet. That’s why it’s called personal, because it’s something for you and your family, and I feel happy with it.”
The breakup comes mere days after it was rumored the twosome had supposedly become "miserable together," with added reports that their "relationship is hanging by a thread," and that they've been attempting to work things out for the sake of their daughter.
Cooper and the model's relationship weathered another storm beget by the success of the actor's film A Star Is Born, starring cast mate Lady Gaga, which became the talk of 2018 and this year's awards season. While on the awards circuit to promote the movie, the director faced speculations of being romantically involved with his co-star after their intimate performance at the Oscars. The "Born This Way" musician maintained the rumors were untrue and that she and Cooper are just friends.
As of yet, neither Cooper nor Shayk has commented on the split.
