Nazrul singer Khalid Hossain passes away

Khalid HossainNazrul Sangeet singer and teacher Khalid Hossain has died while being treated at a Dhaka hospital.
The 78-year-old was a declared dead at 10.22pm on Wednesday (May 22) by doctors at the Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital, his son Asif Hossain told Bangla Tribune.
Hossain has been singing Nazrul songs for over six decades. In his long career, Khalid worked as a teacher and examiner of Nazrul Sangeet at various universities and institutes, including Dhaka University and National University.
The Ekushey Padak winning singer was born in Kushtia on Dec 4, 1940. He is a member of the Nazrul Notation Authentication Board at the Nazrul Institute. Khalid has released many Nazrul Sangeet albums.
