Freedom fighter and eminent musician Ahmed Imtiaz Bulbul is set to go under bypass surgery at Ibrahim Cardiac Hospital within next few days.
Doctors found eight blocks at his heart after he was admitted to the hospital a week ago. He has returned home temporarily, after undergoing treatment at the CCU unit for four days.
BulBul disclosed the information through a May 15 Facebook post. At present, he is staying at home.
Contacted on May 16, he told Bangla Tribune: "I took a week’s leave from the hospital after receiving primary treatment for four days. I didn't know that my heart’s condition was so bad. I have some tasks to do. After completing my tasks, I will return to the hospital next week for a bypass surgery.”
In his FB status, the musician vented his frustration and anger against the government, saying, "I do not need any help from government, artists, friends or anyone. I myself am enough for me. I just want to keep the national flag and the Qur'an Sharif on my chest for 10 seconds before the operation."
A number of artists came up with condolence and support for him after the facebook status was published.
“I was a prosecution witness in the war crimes case in 2012 as per government’s directives but I never believed my younger brother Miraz would be killed for that deposition,” Bulbul wrote on his facebook.
