Award-winning Indian actor Manisha Koirala has said that she doesn’t believe in media trial, rather she is a strong believer of women’s empowerment.
Her comments came on Friday during a session at the Dhaka Lit Fest (DLF) 2018, where the popular bollywood star of the 90’s is participating for the first time.
The session, hosted by Sadaf Saaz, one of the directors of DLF, ended with a question and answer session, where Manisha took questions from the audience.
Regarding the ongoing #metoo movement which has recently created a stir in the India, the famed Nepalese-born actor said, “I believe in women’s empowerment. But, I don’t believe in media trial. I believe that perpetrators should be brought to justice through proper investigation”
“As a woman I never consider myself as a victim. I’m rather a survivor. I am a fighter,” added Manisha.
