There is no place for corrupts and those who engage in inner feud within Awami League, said General Secretary Obaidul Quader.
His remarks came during a program held on the occasion of the seventh-death anniversary of Awami League leader and Land Minister Saifuzzaman Chowdhury Akhtaruzzaman Chowdhury Babu’s father Akhtaruzzaman Chowdhury at Chattogram on Wednesday (Nov 13).
“We don’t need polluted blood,” he said before adding that the party won’t take the blame for a selected few people’s misdeeds and the party’s achievements shouldn’t be overshadowed by those.
“If the party’s image is harmed in any way due to someone, they won’t be spared,” Quader said.
He said that they do want change, but the kind that is related to the party’s traditional roots.
