Paturia-Daulatdia ferry services resumes

ferryPaturia-Daulatdia ferry service on the Padma river has resumed after being suspended for 11 hours due to adverse weather during Cyclone Bulbul.

The authorities resumed the service around 9:30 am on Sunday (Nov 10).

The service was closed down from 10:10 pm on Saturday (Nov 9).

Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) Daulatdia ghat Manager (business) Abu Abdullah Rony said: "The ferry service was closed down to be safe from Cyclone Bulbul and resumed on Sunday after the situation returned to normal."

To avoid accidents, the authorities closed down Aricha-Kajirhat ferry service at 3 pm on Saturday and will resume once the situation is normal, said BIWTC Aricha ghat Assistant Director (traffic) Faridul Islam.

On both the sides, hundreds of vehicles were seen waiting for the ferry service.
