Fishermen have rescued 16 people of a fishing trawler, which capsized in the Bay of Bengal off the coast in Barguna. One still remains missing.
“The FB Tariqul sank after it was hit by a storm in Narikelbaria area on the sea around 8am on Saturday (Jul 21) leaving 17 people on board missing,” said local fishing trawler owner’s association.
Later several fishing trawlers opened an operation and rescued all but one people.
The operation was underway to rescue the missing one, who was the cook of the sunken boat, the association president Golam Mostafa Chowdhury said.
