GazipurA man was killed after allegedly being hit on the head by his son at Gazipur’s Sreepur upazila early on Tuesday (Oct 22).
The deceased has been identified as 55-year-old Abdul Wadud, a teacher at a local girls’ school, confirmed Sreepur police OC Liakat Ali.
He said that police have arrested Wadud’s son 25-year-old Imran Fakir over the incident.
According to the OC, the father and son got into an argument over Imran’s education expenses at around 1:30 am on Tuesday.
“The son hit the father on the head with a rod,” he said and added that a critically injured Wadud was taken to the hospital where the doctors declared him dead.
OC Ali said that upon being informed, police recovered the body and sent it for autopsy.
He added that the arguments between the father and son weren’t new as Wadud reportedly didn’t bear his son’s educational expenditures properly.
