Police in Bogura have detained 10 people on allegation of consuming drug, who the security forces claimed were the activists of ruling Awami League's youth front Jubo League.

The arrests were made near a filing  station in Fulata area of the district's Sadar Upazila on Saturday (Oct 20) night

Sadar police OC SM Badiuzzaman said all of the detainees are activists of Jubo League.

They gathered near the filing  station around 9pm. When a team of police arrived in the spot and they recovered three empty bottles of Phensedyl there, said Sadar police ASI Abu Taher.

As the Jubo League men failed to come up with satisfactory answer, they were taken to the police custody, the ASI added.

Locals, however, alleged the Jubo League activists were consuming drug.

No arms or drugs have been recovered from the possession of the detainees, said OC Badiuzzaman adding legal action would be taken against them after investigation.
