Clash of BCL factions leave 10 injured in Barguna

Barguna Pathorghata Student Legue clashAt least ten activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) were injured and three were held by the police during multiple clashes in between two rival groups of its unit of Barguna.

The clash in PatharghataUpazilaoriginated from a scuffle amongst the followers of removed general secretary Enamul Hossain and the followers of acting general secretary BakiBillahover a rally demanding reinstitution of Enamul.

Local police used force to handle the clashes. OC of Patharghata police station told the media that, additional forces have been deployed in the town.

Among the injured five were admitted into PatharghataUpazila Hospital with injuries, while others were released after primary treatment.

Earlier, acting BCL president Al-Nahean Khan Joy and acting general secretary LekhakBhattacharjee removed Enamul Hossain on Thursday (Oct 17) over allegations of working against the values of the student wing of the ruling party.
