A bullet-hit body of an unidentified man has been found in Lakshmipur, say police.
The incident was reported late Monday (Oct 15) from a village near the Southeastern district town, said Inspector Abul Kalam Azad, the officer-in-charge of the local Chandraganj police station.
“Police went to Bokultala area at Dattapara union in the early hours of Monday after gunshots were reported. A man with gunshot wounds was found at the scene. He was rushed to the local hospital where the doctors declared him dead,” said the police officer.
A fire arm, two rounds of ammunition, bullet shells and a local weapon were found at the spot, according to police.
OC Azad says they suspect the victim, who is yet to be identified, was caught in a shooting between two armed groups of criminals.
