Khulna AL leader suspended over 'anti-state post'

Sheikh Baharul Alam. FacebookKhulna Awami League Executive Committee member Sheikh Baharul Alam has been suspended over allegedly violating party discipline.
Khulna district unit Awami League Office Secretary Advocate Farid Ahmed issued a media statement in this regard on Wednesday (Oct 9) evening.
The statement said: "Baharul Alam violated party discipline by posting an anti-state status related to the business relations between India and Bangladesh on his personal Facebook account."

"We also sent him a show cause notice, asking him to explain within seven working days his action, and why the committee should not ban him permanently from the party," the release furthered.
Khulna district unit Awami League President Sheikha Harunur Rashid chaired the meeting in which the decision of suspending Baharul was taken.
