Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader addressing an audience at a program organised by Awami League district unit in Cox’s Bazar on Saturday (Sept 21).No one involved with corruption, drug trade or terrorism will be spared irrespective of their political affiliations, said senior Cabinet member Obaidul Quader.
His remarks came on Saturday (Sept 21) while addressing an audience at a program organised by Awami League district unit in Cox’s Bazar.
He said that the crackdown that began at the order of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will continue not only in Dhaka but all across the country.
The ruling party general secretary called on everyone to stay united regarding Awami League’s national council and added that the party has initiated weeding out conspirators and parasites.
“The grassroots activists are Awami League’s strength. You have to stay beside the party through thick and thin and must move forward the way Awami League waged movement during 9/11 [caretaker regime],” Quader said.
He added that councils of all the expired committees will be held soon and any party leader or activist will have to bear the consequence of tarnishing the image of the party.
On the Rohingya crisis, he said that BNP was “instigating” Myanmar so that they don’t take back the Rohingyas. “We are unable to bear the burden of 1.1 million Rohingyas. Those against the country are now conspiring after failing to wage movements and win the election.”
The road transport and bridges minister said that some NGOs were also instigating the Rohingyas to stay and if needed, steps will be taken against them.
