A clash at Magura village has left one dead and 10 others hospitalised.
Police said the incident was reported from the Chandpur village near the district town.
The clash between supporters of locals Ful Miah and Iman Ali erupted around 9:30am, said Additional Superintendent of Police Tariqul Islam.
He said one Ekhlas Molla, known to be a follower of Ali, was hacked with sharp weapons during an attack at his home, which triggered the clash leaving several others injured.
Molla was rushed to the state-run hospital in Magura town, where doctors said he was dead on arrival. At least 10 others are being treated at the same hospital with injuries sustained in the clash.
Additional police forces have been deployed in the area following the incident, said senior police officer Islam.
