Two fish farmers hacked to death in Meherpur

MeherpurTwo fish farmers have been hacked to death in Meherpur.
The incident was reported from the Darbeshpur village in Sadar upazila late on Wednesday (Sept 11).
The victims have been identified as Rokonuzzaman, 36, and Hasan Ali, 42. Both of them were cousins.
"The incident took place at Soilmari Beel which they had taken on lease for fish farming,” Meherpur Superintendent SM Murad Ali said. “They went there around 11:30pm when a unidentified assailants attacked with them with sharp weapons."
Both of them died on the spot after being stabbed indiscriminately, he said. "We suspect that a previous animosity might be the reason behind this murder."
The bodies were sent to a local hospital for autopsy. A case is underway in this connection with Meherpur police station.
